In the spirit of the digital age, we met online.

The day that Kristina proposed, we were on a land and sea cruise of Alaska. We stopped in Denali National Park for the day/night, and Kristina walked around for hours with the ring in her pocket! When the time was right, she brought me up to a ridge overlooking the mountains, and got down on one knee to ask.

Our main influence was our current lifestyle and home. We live on 3,000 acres of woods and are avid outdoors people so we wanted our wedding to incorporate a rustic, wooded theme.

From the moment we got engaged, mobile app was the best app that we used to track the items that we needed to complete each month leading up to the wedding day. The website was also extremely important for helping us to find and choose our venue and vendors. For decorative planning purposes, Pinterest was where we spent most of our time!

Our decision to hire a videographer came from the idea that it is the best way to capture the voices and joyous reactions of those that you love the most. While photography is critical to a wedding, videography captures the music, the conversations, and the laughter surrounding such an incredible day.

Prior to the wedding, I surprised Kristina with a set of personalized cufflinks. On the front was a picture of her late father, and on the back were the words “With you every step of the ways.” This way, he could still be there to walk her down the aisle.

For our guests, we surprised them with an ice cream show on the dancefloor, adult slushies passed around near the end of the night, hangover kits and a burrito to go!

1. Book your vendors far in advance!

2.  Homemade outweighs store bought

3. Two words: “Yes dear”

The most memorable part of our wedding day was our first look. We elected to do a private first look with each other before the wedding so that we could have a private moment and get rid of the tears and jitters. This was the most intimate and special part of our wedding day.

Enjoy the process. As stressful as it may become, you’ll look back and realize that it was the some of the most fun to be able to plan all of the details. The wedding goes by so fast, so enjoy the time you spend planning for the best day of your life.
