Mark and I met through mutual friends that were dating at the time. We all went on a group date and from there continued to see each other regularly.
We were on vacation in Hilton Head, it was fourth of July and we had been down at the beach for fireworks. We took a walk along the water and he proposed then.
We wanted something elegant and classy. We knew from the beginning that we wanted Pine Hills for the venue because we love everything about it and typically have full run of the place. They are very well put together up there as well as easy going and fun. We have had numerous events up there including our engagement party and they have always been unbelievable! We could not have asked for a better set up for that day. Everything came together just like we hoped for
We started with a list of what we needed (from prior people as well as our wedding planner book). We began with what we knew we wanted and had to have and then went from there. Ultimately we used word of mouth and recommendations for everything. Whatever we did not have or hear from people then we heavily hit the internet and researched with reviews.
We knew that we wanted that day captured from beginning to end. Everyone we spoke to either had a videographer or wished they had got one. I knew walking away from that day we were ending up with video and pictures to remember everything and I am so glad we did.
We had gifts and cards for one another. I had lost a very close family member 2 months prior to our wedding and for her wedding she had given everyone silver hearts with their names on them. I had hers and my uncles heart for my bouquet and Mark had then bought a matching one with our names and wedding date on it to put on my bouquet next to theirs. I had bought Mark customized cuff links and a tie patch for the inside of his tie. We also had a 30 minute firework show for our guests, which was amazing!
Make sure you get and do exactly what you want because you do not want to look back and regret not doing it or skipping it! Also Check Reviews for EVERYTHING! You never know what you are getting into and we had that come up a few times from my wedding dress to our tent and all of our rented equipment… you can never be too cautious!
I would say walking down the aisle, Dancing with everyone and the firework display to name a few kepoints
Other then check reviews on everything… Just make sure you take time to enjoy everything, because time does not stop even for a second!
